At today's 6-hour tracking class.
CCSAR had a great 6-hour tracking training today. Thank you, Kathy Decker, for coming down from Seattle to co-instruct. We were so pleased to see Steve Reddington on his way to recovery and back in the field!
Six hour JHPTS Visual Tracking Training class today. Great students/great fun. Yes, we wimped out and trained indoors. 🙂
On Sunday, January 15, from 0900-1500 Cowlitz County Search and Rescue, Kelso, WA, will have a visual tracking and training class open to search and rescue volunteers with state DEM cards. This is an opportunity to either learn about how to follow someone’s footprints or to advance your skills doing so. This is part of a series of trainings designed toward certification.
If you plan to come, please let Sharon Ward know so that we can plan a training that serves your needs.

Cowlitz County Search & Rescue just finished a regional six-hour Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services tracking training. It was attended by members of CCSAR, Polk County SAR, Yamhill County SAR, Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue Unit, Pacific Crest Search Dogs, Search Dogs Northwest, Evergreen Search Dogs, Snohomish County Search and Rescue and Olympic Mountain Rescue. Joel Hardin, Kathy Decker and Sharon Ward instructed this class. It was great to have so many units working together to learn and advance their knowledge in this valuable SAR skill.
